Two brothers were in serious condition late Tuesday after being shot several times at a South Side convenience store where they worked, officials said.

The shootings took place about 9:15 p.m. in A&S Food and Liquor, 308 E. 75th St., according to Wentworth Area Detective Tom Grady.

Mohammed Mahdi, 32, was shot several times in the chest and abdomen and taken to Cook County Hospital. Sami Mahdi, 26, was taken to Christ Hospital and Medical Center in Oak Lawn with gunshot wounds to a knee, a shoulder and his head, a nursing supervisor said.

Police were unable to provide additional details.
