John C. Chernetti, of the 4900 block of Kingston Avenue, requested a police watch on his home after someone blew up his mailbox Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.
Chernetti told police the incident may be the result of charges being filed against him for cruelty to an animal. He told police he has also received threatening mail. Chernetti is free on bond on the cruelty charges and has a court hearing on May 8.
