Joe Bowden and the Simeon Wolverines continued their hot streak Monday afternoon with a 10-3 dismantling of Mather.
Bowden belted his sixth homer run and knocked in his 22nd run for No. 6 Simeon (7-2), which also got big games from Jeff Winters (2 for 4, two RBIs)
and Gary Easterling (triple, two RBIs).
”There`s thunder in his bat,” Simeon coach Leroy Franklin saidof Bowden. ”He`s hitting all kinds of pitches, a tough out.”
Andrew 10, Argo 3-Zack Pringle belted two two-run homers and Bill Cusack added two hits and an RBI for No. 1 Andrew (9-0).
Fenwick 10, Evanston 4-Joe Ignatius` two doubles brought home three runs and Dan Burke added two hits and an RBI for Fenwick (6-1).
Steinmetz 10, Schurz 0-Nelson Melon (3 for 3) delivered a three-run triple and Schmeik Wade had two doubles and three RBIs for Steinmetz.
SOFTBALL
Von Steuben 20, Senn 7-Gaby Janik drove in five runs with four hits and Alby Contreras added three hits.
Prosser 17, Kelvyn Park 6-Jewel Jackson whiffed 14 and Perla Munoz (3 for 4, home run, five RBIs) keyed Prosser`s offense.
Carver 15, Fenger 11-Aaronna McGee hit two solo shots for Carver (3-0).
Good Counsel 4, Mother Guerin 1-Jenny Fowler had four hits and drove in a run for Good Counsel (9-3).
Regina 17, Stevenson 6-J.C. Kane was the winning pitcher and slugged four hits, scored four runs and drove in four runs for Regina.
