A 50-year-old Richton Park man was charged with retail theft Saturday after he reportedly attempted to steal $800 worth of home blood sugar test equipment used by diabetics from a Palatine store. Charged was Louis A. Berry, 500 Cedar Rd. Police said Berry put the items in his coat and attempted to elude a security officer inside K mart, 537 N. Hicks Rd.
