The school board for Elk Grove Township District 59 has begun searching for a successor to Supt. James K. Fay.
Fay, 58, who has been superintendent since 1978, announced his retirement earlier this year, effective in June 1993.
A search team from the Illinois Association of School Boards will assist the school board in its search. Fay expects that a new superintendent will be selected by next March.
