R.R. Donnelley & Sons Inc.`s first-quarter net income jumped 18 percent, to $35.5 million, or 46 cents a share, from $30 million, or 39 cents a share, a year earlier. Sales advanced to $938 million from $868 million. The Chicago- based commercial printing firm, the world`s largest, said it benefited from growth in its computer-documentation and financial-printing services.
