Amtrak service out of Chicago and across the country will be pared back beginning Sunday as the government-owned passenger railroad prepares for a strike that could hit at 11:01 p.m. Tuesday.
Besides the truncated routes and canceled runs planned in the days before the threatened walkout, Amtrak said Friday that it will take no reservations for trains scheduled to depart their originating stations Wednesday or Thursday.
Passengers with questions should call Amtrak`s toll-free number, 1-800-USA-RAIL.
