By example: Delta Air Lines Chairman and Chief Executive Ronald Allen asked the board of the financially troubled carrier to reduce his annual salary by $100,000, the company said. Board members, while agreeing to the reduction, said they didn`t think Allen was too highly paid, the company said. The Atlanta-based company had asked its pilots to delay a 5 percent wage increase scheduled to go into effect Sept. 1. The Air Line Pilots Association said it would refuse wage concessions until it could review Delta`s finances.
