I fail to understand the hubbub over rapper Ice-T. Poe, Dostoyevsky, Zola and Camus all wrote graphic novels describing killing fantasies in which they, the narrators, do the killing. Our society praises these writers for their works.

I don`t mean to suggest Ice-T is as great a musician as those men were writers. But why is it when a black man from L.A. writes about a killing fantasy, his work is described as ”sick” and ”seditious,” and when Europeans write about killing fantasies, it`s ”existentialism”?
