The double standard strikes again! Since caveman days, geriatric men have been siring children. Old men are lauded for their ”machismo.” But when a healthy, young, 53-year-old woman gets pregnant, the world is aghast that she is ”too old” to handle having a child (Tribune, Oct. 7).
Congratulations to Mary Shearing. There is no doubt she can properly care for her twins, considering that grandmothers often raise their grandchildren.
