Closing factories: Carrier Corp., a unit of United Technologies Corp., said it will close three factories, including those in Jacksonville, Fla., and Savannah, Ga., in a move it said will save $2.5 million a year. The closures will results in a net loss of 50 jobs, the company said. Both closures are due in early 1993.
