The music is called ”rig rock” but it`s really just good ol`
rockabilly, with a New York City twang. There`s rocking blue-collar salutes
(”Good Morning Mr. Trucker”), a couple of odes to Hank Sr. (”Do It for Hank,” ”I Think Hank Woulda Done It This Way”) and some familiar country laments (”Leaving,” ”Why I Drink”) from a variety of mostly unknown Lower East Side groups, including World Famous Blue Jays, Courtney & Western and Angel Dean & the Zephyrs.
For the most part, the music is eminently danceable and lots of fun-though the lyrics may be a touch too arch for basic truckstop-jukebox fare. Put this alongside the Commander Cody`s immortal ”Hot Licks, Cold Steel and Truckers` Favorites” and get ready to start your engines.
