Just when you thought that Martha Stewart had done it all, we’ve got some news for you, straight from a source who should know. “She’s never run a motel,” says Alexis Stewart, the 27-year-old daughter of the indefatigable decorating/catering/”lifestyle” maven. That may explain why the younger Stewart is tackling it.

Come June 18, the Bridgehampton Motel’s 10 rooms will open in the trendy community of Bridgehampton, N.Y., on the tip of Long Island. But because creativity runs in the family, don’t expect some tacky roadside number.

Alexis spotted the for-sale sign on the dilapidated motel and rounded up a crew to gut the interior and restore the exterior.

Furnishings are casual yet luxe. Sheets are 100 percent Egyptian cotton; comforters are of down.

How did an English literature major from Barnard College learn how to hang doors and tile floors? “I grew up with parents who were always doing something to their home,” says Alexis, who hopes Mom will come and stay.

Room rates range from $210 to $250 a night. Call 516-537-0197.
