Aldermen want to add a bit more class to the city.
So by the end of November, 40 of the city’s utility poles will begin sporting a pair of promotional banners. One, featuring the city logo, will be displayed year-round, and the other will rotate as the seasons change.
The banners, which the city is purchasing from a firm in Minnesota, will cost around $17,000.
“We want to enhance the city’s beauty,” said Drew Terry, the city tourism coordinator.
