Robert J. Healy, 84, an administrator, worked under five Cook County state’s attorneys and then for 17 years as director of personnel for the Cook County Board.
A resident of Hinsdale, he died Tuesday in Americana-Monticello Health Care Center in Hinsdale.
“Bob was a hale fellow, well-met,” said his brother, Bill.
He joined the state’s attorney’s office after graduating in 1931, subsequently becoming administrative assistant. He served under the following Cook County state’s attorneys: Thomas Courtney, William Touhy, John S. Boyle, John Gutknecht and Benjamin Adamowski.
Mr. Healy then left that office and became director of personnel for the Cook County Board, serving under board presidents Daniel Ryan and George Dunne. He retired in 1973.
He was also a pianist.
Survivors, besides his brother, include two sons, Robert Jr. and Bill; a daughter, Karen Barnes; another brother; two sisters; and four grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Healy will be private.
