Joseph A. Alschuler, 70, an electrical engineer, died Friday in Highland Park. Mr. Alschuler, a 35-year Skokie resident, tested power tools for Sears for most of his career. He was an Army communications specialist based in New Guinea during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Judy; two daughters, Renee and Jackie; a son, Steven; and a brother. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Weinstein Brothers Wilmette Chapel, 111 Skokie Blvd.
