The China Star Restaurant, 8600 W. 159th St., reported it lost an unspecified amount of money to an alleged con artist posing as a fire-extinguisher salesman in Chicago and other southwest suburbs. Police said the man persuaded restaurant workers on Nov. 1 to pay him cash for fire extinguishers, then left without installing them. The suspect was described as a white male, age 30, 6-feet 2-inches tall, 180 pounds, with brown hair and a pockmarked face.
