A 35-year-old Algonquin man was arrested Saturday after he was caught cutting through a chain-link fence to get into a business lot where snow blowers were being stored, police said. Allen E. Janes, of 1750 Mary Rd., was charged with possession of burglary tools, criminal trespass and criminal damage to property. He also was wanted on a warrant issued by Carpentersville police for failure to appear in court on a charge of retail theft. Police said witnesses reported seeing Janes park his vehicle behind a business in the 200 block of North Randall Road. He was inside the lot when officers arrived, and investigators found a pair of bolt cutters next to an opening that had been cut in the fence, police said. Janes was released after posting $1,000, or 10 percent of a $10,000 bond. He is to appear Dec. 9 in Kane County Circuit Court.
