Maurice E. Norfleet, 36, a community activist on Chicago’s West Side, was murdered Tuesday in a shooting that friends and relatives believe was based on mistaken identity. Mr. Norfleet was a director and co-founder of the Southwest Humboldt Park Community Service Center. He was also a member of the local school council for Morse Elementary School. Survivors include his mother, Hazel; three sisters; and a brother. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday in the Unique Funeral Home, 3425 W. Chicago Ave., Chicago. Services will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Miracle Temple Church, 4645 W. Madison St., Chicago.
