Solomon Kotzin, 87, a former Chicago lawyer, industrialist and Zionist leader, died Thursday in Raanana, Israel. A native of Kalisch, Poland, he came to Chicago in 1920. He was a former resident of West Rogers Park. After practicing as an attorney for a short time, he joined his brothers in operating Metropolitan Shoemakers Inc. He also worked for Jewish Vocational Services. He was past president of the Chicago Shoemakers Association, and president of the Labor Zionist Organization of Chicago. He is survived by his wife, Ann; a daughter, Morissa Amittai; a son, Michael; and six grandchildren. Services were Friday in Israel.
