Deal is done: Chicago-based Fruit of the Loom Inc. said it completed its purchase of Gitano Group Inc. for $100 million and said it doesn’t expect the transaction to have a material impact on 1994 per-share net income. Gitano, once one of the most popular apparel brands in discount stores, filed for bankruptcy protection from creditors earlier this month.
