A 29-year-old woman walking along Illinois Highway 134 after visiting a number of taverns was struck and killed by a car Tuesday night, authorities said.
Susan Storgaard of Blue Island was walking against traffic west of Wilson Road when she was hit at 9:45 p.m., Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy Chief Stanley Iwan said. The woman was dressed in black and had consumed a “great deal of alcohol,” he said. No charges were filed, he said.
