– The Lofty Gourmet Cooking School offers assorted classes in June on the second floor of the Farmside Country Store, 303 Old McHenry Rd., Long Grove. – Real Men Cook, a benefit for the South Side YMCA will feature the creations of 200 cooks from 3 to 6 p.m. on Father’s Day (June 19) at the club, 6330 S. – The Chicago Fund on Aging and Disability and Continental Distributing Co. will sponsor “Sipping on the Dock of the Lake,” a tasting of products from 42 distillers and 42 wineries as well as foods from area restaurants and food companies, including Nick’s Fishmarket, Vinny’s Restaurant, Michael Jordon’s, Eli’s Cheesecake and more. The event takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. June 21 at Navy Pier. Proceeds will benefit homebound elderly people by providing meal delivery. The cost is $25 in advance or $30 at the door.
