– The resignation Wednesday of five directors from the Katy Industries Inc. board was part of an agreed-upon plan to reorganize that firm by reducing the board to 12 members. A story on Thursday failed to assign motives to the resignations. Katy President John R. Prann Jr. said the resignations had nothing to do with the board’s approval of a special dividend or its decision to move company headquarters to Denver from Elgin, as the story may have implied. All 18 headquarters employees will be offered jobs in Denver, a company spokesman said Thursday. On Wednesday, Katy had not said what would happen to those workers.
