In reference to your editorial, “Clinton asserts himself on Cuba” (Aug. 20), almost all the Cuban leaders in Miami, Chicago and other cities, as well as the majority of the Cuban-Americans, support Clinton’s new immigration policy and sanctions against Cuba.

You mention that the new policy shows a consistency with the policy on Haiti. It does not. We have a naval blockade in Haiti, and we were even talking about invading Haiti. We should establish the same policy on Cuba, a naval blockade, considering that Fidel Castro’s dictatorship is one thousand times worse than the one in Haiti. The Black Caucus should support such a blockade to make both policies “consistent.”
