Joseph Michael Connell, 87, a retired vice president of Continental Bank, died Sunday in his home in Northbrook. Mr. Connell was born in St. Louis. He worked at Continental Bank for 48 years before he retired as a vice president in 1972. He served in the Navy in World War II. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; a daughter, Barbara Dotts; a granddaughter; and a step-grandson. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at Sheldon Cemetery in Sheldon, Ill.
