Steve Daley had a wonderful time ridiculing Dan Quayle for talking about family values and not having solutions (Sept. 11).
When Quayle gave his original Murphy Brown speech he was a pioneer. Nobody else had dared to mention the damage the showbiz/media establishment is doing to our society. Even George Bush would not back him up.
Quayle does not have all the answers. But we should give him credit for being the leader on family values at a time when it could only get him in trouble. If we took his advice and forced the media to clean up its act, we would be taking a big step in the right direction.
