The overwhelming preponderance in arms and “ethnic cleansing” as a method of warfare have secured for the Serbs large portions of Bosnia and Croatia. To contain the war, the world leaders have been constantly appeasing the aggressor and have refused to end the arms embargo on Bosnia and Croatia.
Although the Western “carrots” to the Serbs have been bigger than “sticks,” apparently they are not willing to accept anything less than the creation of an ethnically pure “Greater Serbia.” Your editorial, “Let Bosnia’s Muslim have arms” (Sept. 27), is a welcome change in your approach to the tragic war.
