The Palatine Township Senior Center is hosting its second annual “Adult Children of Aging Parents Seminar” on Saturday at the township’s senior center, 721 S. Quentin Rd. The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The $10 cost includes lunch. For more information call 991-1112.
The workshop is aimed at the growing number of people who fall into the so-called sandwich generation, adults faced with the responsibility of caring for aging parents or relatives, while raising their own children.
Among the topics to be covered: should aging relatives live alone; health changes to look for; benefits available to seniors; reminiscence as a communications bridge; and self-care for care-givers.
