John T. McCurdy, 51, a political campaign consultant, died Monday in Christ Hospital and Medical Center in Oak Lawn following a long illness. A Chicago native who attended Chicago State University and DePaul University, Mr. McCurdy was a Marine in the Vietnam War. For the last 25 years, he worked in the election campaigns of Democrats and a few Republicans. Among his clients were former Gov. Dan Walker, former Chicago Mayor Jane Byrne, former Atty. Gen. Neil Hartigan and Lt. Gov. Bob Kustra. Survivors include his mother, Ottilie Rita McCurdy, and a sister, Rita Bertz. Mass will be said at 11 a.m. in St. Germaine Catholic Church, 4240 W. 98th St., Oak Lawn.
