The description of the neo-Nazi organization Aryan Nations as a “white supremacy group” is more than merely an error in semantics (Main news, July 4). It reveals confusion about an important extremist organization on the Far Right with ties to the militia movement and to Timothy McVeigh, the accused Oklahoma City bomber.
To be sure, non-whites would fare very poorly if the Aryan Nations and others of their ilk were to gain power. But it is the Jews whom they hate first and foremost.
It is important to be clear about this. Oklahoma City showed the dangers posed by the enemies of democracy. In the struggle against this foe, we must understand clearly the essence of what it is we are up against, namely, implacable and paranoid anti-Semitism.
