Edward S. Powell, 82, of Barrington, a retired custom-home builder, died Wednesday in Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington. He was born in Glen Ridge, N.J. He was in the Navy in World War II. He is survived by his wife, Hazel; four daughters, Nancy Andersen, Lea Tonkin, Ellen Anderson and Alice Haefke; and a son, Edward Jr. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Stirlen-Pieper Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St., Barrington.
