Chicago public school officials have designated the week as “Take Our Parents to School Week,” a time to impress on parents the importance of taking an active role in their children’s education. City school parents are scheduled to pick up student report cards this week, but traditionally turnout has been low. This year, through a series of outreach efforts administrators hope to spark greater parental interest in what goes on in classrooms.
