William Dolan, 91, a retired Chicago Fire Department captain, died Tuesday in South Suburban Hospital, Hazel Crest. A lifelong Chicagoan, Mr. Dolan served with the Fire Department from 1932 until his retirement in 1966. He then worked as a building inspector for the city for about four years. Mr. Dolan was also an amateur singer and won a singing contest among members ofthe city’s Police and Fire Departments in 1933. Mr. Dolan is survived by his wife, Jessie; two children, Sister Mary and James; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Services will begin at 9:15 a.m. Saturday in Andrew J. McGann & Son Funeral Home, 10727 S. Pulaski Rd. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church, 4107 W. 107th St., Oak Lawn.
