Chicago Public Schools officials have given the local school council at Avalon Park School on the South Side a Tuesday deadline to settle an ongoing dispute with principal Earl Williams or be disbanded. A team from the district’s accountability department in late November gave the local council 30 school days to bring in a mediator, fill several vacancies on the council and to adopt a school improvement plan.
