Emily McCormack’s definition of economic freedom is socialism, and it does not work (Voice, Feb. 2). “Sharing the wealth” under a government-dominated plan leads to a misallocation of productive resources and a reduced standard of living for the entire country.

What this country was founded on was freedom of opportunity and personal responsibility. If Ms. McCormack is economically successful, I do not feel she has to share it with me or anyone else.
