John Booth, 66, a former press operator for the Chicago Tribune, died Feb. 2 at home in Mesa, Ariz. He worked for the newspaper from 1961 to 1985. “He was very conscientious and went by the book,” his daughter, Pamela Zalinger, said. Survivors include two other daughters, Patricia Mercurio and Penny Dixon; a son, Jerry; a brother; and five grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 17 in the Church of the Annunciation, Episcopal, 5725 W. Stearns School Rd., Gurnee.
