The cost of refuse and yard-waste stickers will remain stable for residents this year, officials said Monday night.
Residents will pay $1.45 per sticker in 1996, just as they did last year.
But the cost of the stickers will rise to $1.50 each in May 1997 under an agreement between the village and hauler Browning-Ferris Inc.
But part of that cost might be lower than expected. If net revenues from the sale of recyclables from the village exceed $18.75 a ton, the village can negotiate a lower price for the refuse stickers from BFI, officials said.
Net revenues currently are about $23.20 a ton.
The village’s recycling program also will remain the same.
Special refuse-pickup options and large-item pickup also will remain the same this year, officials said.
