Fred Penner, who just released an album called “Moonlight Express,” brings his infectious energy and his Cat’s Meow Band to Orchestra Hall as part of the Kraft Family Matinee Series. Whether he’s singing songs of the 1930s and ’40s from his “Happy Feet” album or tunes that celebrate the joys of childhood from “What A Day!,” Penner’s music always communicates his affection for his audience. He will perform at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. April 27 at Orchestra Hall, 220 S. Michigan Ave. Tickets are $5.50 to $25; 312-435-2899.
