A swastika was placed on Marlon Brando’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame early Monday after the actor came under fire for saying Hollywood is “run by Jews.”
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce said the swastika was removed swiftly.
Brando denounced what he said is a Jewish-run movie establishment that has exploited other racial and ethnic stereotypes. “They should have a greater sensitivity about the issue of people who are suffering because they’ve (been) exploited,” Brando said Friday night on Cable News Network’s “Larry King Live.”
“Hollywood is run by Jews; it is owned by Jews, and they should have a greater sensitivity,” said Brando, who urged Hollywood to try to improve relations.
The American Jewish Congress branded Brando “blatantly anti-Semitic” and urged him to “emulate the silent movies.”
The strident Jewish Defense League vowed to make Brando’s life “a living hell.”
Brando’s spokesman had no immediate reaction.
