Felix “Phil” Prebis, 85, affectionately referred to as “Mr. Kolacky” by customers at his Chicago bakery and catering business, died Sunday in Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago. He operated Prebis Bakery at 3702 N. Kedzie Ave. from 1950 to 1996, specializing in apple strudel and pound cake, his daughter-in-law, Geraldine Prebis, said. “He made his last batch of kolacky in December,” she said. Survivors include his wife, Agnes; two sons, Philip and Roger; two sisters; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Montclair-Lucania Funeral Home, 6901 W. Belmont Ave. Mass will be said at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Celestine Catholic Church, Elmwood Park.
