Trustees will discuss a committee recommendation to seek home-rule powers at a work session. The committee members, Mayor John Nowakowski and Trustees Mike Hrad and Dave Smith, will suggest putting the question to voters in a November referendum, Nowakowski said. Home-rule powers would confer a major benefit by allowing the village to assess developer impact fees to offset the effects of growth, proponents say.
