Detectives arrested a Kentucky man for allegedly stealing an elderly woman’s $1,092 retirement check Friday and then trying to cash it at Highland Liquors, 325 W. Highland Ave., police said. Terrence Harper, 18, of Glasgow, Ky., was charged with forgery, authorities said. The investigators caught up with Harper a short time later and took him into custody, authorities said. Police did not indicate how Harper allegedly got the check or how old the victim is, police said.
