Libertyville 7, Antioch 3: No. 3 Libertyville (16-1) won its second consecutive North Suburban contest behind Scott Abercrombie (5-0), who gave up three hits and struck out nine. Lukas McKnight went 3 for 4 with three RBIs and Pat Thompson (2 for 4) drove in two runs for the victors.
Stevenson 4, Warren 0: Nick Hull’s bases-loaded two-run double in the first inning gave No. 4 Stevenson (16-0, 2-0) an early cushion. Geoff Hamelin, who gave up three hits, no walks and struck out seven, earned the complete-game victory.
Andrew 7, Mt. Carmel 4: No. 7 Mt. Carmel succumbed to Andrew (12-2) and to pitcher Jeff Lindemann (4-0), who gave up six hits and walked six but struck out 11. Dan Dannenberg led Andrew offensively with two hits, including a three-homer in the fifth that put the Thunderbolts up 7-3.
Kankakee 11, Homewood-Flossmoor 9: No. 9 Homewood-Flossmoor (13-3) lost an 8-0 lead and Kankakee (12-2) benefited from Cameron Butler’s two hits and four RBIs, including the game-winner.
Bloom 10, Crete-Monee 0: Bloom improved to 10-3 as Joe Guzzo and Frank Williams each collected two hits.
Brother Rice 5, Bogan 1: Tim Hadley (3 for 4) doubled in the sixth to break a 1-1 tie, and Mike Flavin (1-1) shut down Bogan on two hits as Brother Rice (11-3) cruised in a non-conference contest.
Fenton 15, Lemont 5: Bryan Scott (4-1) earned the Suburban Prairie Red victory and helped his cause with three hits for Fenton (4-12, 1-2). John Malek, Jim Taft and John Greinig each homered for the Bison.
Joliet 5, Rich East 1: Joliet’s Ryan Novak (eight strikeouts) earned the victory and got help from Carl Ziech, who had three hits.
Lincoln-Way 8, Marist 3: Brad Rago (three RBIs) doubled and homered and Andy Mild (3 for 4) doubled twice for the Knights (7-6).
Oak Forest 7, Argo 5: Mark Ayers sparked Oak Forest (10-4) with four hits, including a home run, and two RBIs.
Plainfield 10, Yorkville 3: Plainfield’s Cyle Sartine (three RBIs) and Andy Urbancic both homered in the Suburban Prairie contest.
St. Joseph 6, Weber 5: Mike Francese (two RBIs) singled, doubled and tripled to lead St. Joseph (14-6).
St. Laurence 11, Curie 1: Bill Gannon doubled and tripled and Kevin Ostafin added a solo homer for St. Laurence (8-7-1).
Seneca 6, Dwight 1: David Bishop pitched a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts in the Interstate Eight triumph for Seneca (5-5, 3-0).
Stagg 11, Oak Lawn 1: Jim Cesak tossed a one-hitter and Mike Oliver added a three-run homer and finished with four RBIs for Stagg (11-4-1).
Thornton Fractional South 5, Eisenhower 1: Jason Gahan had two hits and Rob Golden hit a two-run double as T.F. South (3-1 SICA Central) evened its overall record at 6-6.
Thornwood 8, Rich South 7: Justin Huisman went 3 for 4 and Jeff Holzhauser and Joe Gulik added two hits apiece for Thornwood.
Tinley Park 14, Thornton Fractional North 4: Don Schlegel’s grand slam helped Tinley Park (11-5, 3-1) cruise in the SICA Central.
