Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

People were quick to point their finger at the Chicago Police Department for disgracing Patricia Mullen, the overweight woman who died recently.

I will now point my finger at the Tribune staffer responsible for the headline that appeared with your May 14 story. It read “500-pound body will be laid to rest.”

Shame on you! Patricia Mullen was a woman, a mother, a human being, not just a “500-pound body.”

My heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.
