A man has confessed to three vicious attacks against women–the murder of a Park Avenue shop owner and the beatings of a piano teacher in Central Park and a woman in a suburb, a police source said Thursday. No charges were immediately announced.

The suspect gave police “intricate” details of all three crimes, WNYW-TV reported, citing unidentified sources. The brutal attacks horrified the city while damaging its recent reputation for dwindling crime.
