Burr Ridge officials are not certain how to handle the review of a scaled-down movie theater proposal, but a public hearing on the matter is unlikely before October.
Village Administrator Steven Stricker said officials plan to meet next week to discuss the review process for AMC Entertainment Inc.’s proposed 24-screen movie complex in the Burr Ridge Corporate Park at County Line Road and Interstate Highway 55. The company, based in Kansas City, Mo., earlier this year went through public hearings for a 30-screen complex, but the Plan Commission and the Village Board rejected the proposal.
Many residents spoke out against it, saying the complex would increase the potential for traffic hazards and crime.
