Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute architecture professor Walter Kroner has designed a modular house that can grow or shrink with a family’s needs, American Demographics magazine reports. When kids leave home, their rooms can be taken apart and stored in the basement. Not counting land, it would cost $40,000 to $50,000.
