Plans for cleanup and restoration of Lake Ellyn remain mired with the Glen Ellyn Park District Board. Commissioners recently tabled action on restoration plans because they were unhappy with the proposals from three firms.
“They were unsatisfied that the proposals didn’t retain the look of the lake,” said Cory Atwell, Park District executive director.
The plans included 50-foot test plots of designs for the shoreline. Suggested materials to fight erosion, such as interlocking stone or tall grass, did not impress commissioners.
