A 61-year-old Orland Park woman died after her car veered across a busy roadway, over some lawns and through the patio doors of an apartment before stopping in the living room.
No one was in the home at the time of the accident Wednesday night.
Witnesses told police the car driven by Katherine Schneider drifted off the roadway as it traveled west in the 7400 block of Southwest Highway. It crossed oncoming traffic, jumped a curb and crashed into an apartment, said Worth Police Sgt. James Hudson.
The medical examiner has not yet determined the cause of death.
